,,My brain went into reverse when I first viewed this new body of work. As a photographer, Daniel L. Adam has the compositional perspective, restricted color range and heightened tonal values of a hyperrealist painter.

Using HDR and a lot of creative changes by hand, he has managed to create the illusion of highly skilled acrylic paintings of European urban life in his latest splendid photographs. The photos themselves are beautiful, notwithstanding the technically articulate application of effects that at once draw the viewer into the hybrid aesthetic as a substituted reality; by the time it is realized that these are photographs taken with a camera lens, it is too late. The interesting thing here is that they are no longer photos per se; as HDR emulations they now fall somewhere in between the DSLR camera and the creative hand of an innovative artist.’’
